The Inside Passage is an Amazing Place to Sail!

Harness the wind and ocean currents,
learn to sail and navigate,
work with physics - in the real world, and
explore the Inside Passage.

Sailing at the 2014 AK Experience Camp was so fun, UAF Cooperative Extension is starting a year-round 4-H Sailing Club

The Captain will be Sean Boily (experienced sailor, member of Southeast Alaska Sailing, and owner of the 42 foot SV High Noon), with other local sailors, but the club will be led by youth

Winter meetings (Oct-Apr): Monthly, 3rd Thursday, 5-7 pm. at the Juneau Extension office (and other locations). These meetings will cover history, skills, equipment, safety, and the fun of planning for the summer sailing season.

Summer sailing (May-Sep): At least once a month, dates and times to be determined, but almost always out on the SV High Noon and other local sailing vessels. There will be opportunities for both day and overnight trips.

If you're interested:
1. Call Sarah at 523-3280 x1 to get on the interest list!

Note: The club is limited to 10 youth. Final enrollment will be "first come," based on the interest list.

2. Attend the 4-H Sailing Club family meeting:
Thursday, January 15, 5-6 pm
UAF Extension Office, 450 Whittier, Suite 128

3. Enroll for 4-H and the Sailing Club for an amazing year of sailing education and adventures!
