Tutoring Services staff are in the process of recruiting tutors for Spring 2015. While we do not have a list of specific courses at this time, we do encourage students to apply.
This Fall, we had requests for tutoring in more than 300 courses across the university.
Application Dates:
Becoming a Tutor
The Academic Success Center is looking for tutors interested in assisting others while gaining
leadership experience, strengthening their
facilitation and
time management skills, and acquiring transferable skills a future employer will value. More than 90% of tutees surveyed agreed they were more satisfied with their college experience because of their involvement with tutoring. In addition to aiding in others’ success, tutors can
facilitate their own academic success using the skills they learn to apply in their sessions. Students have the flexibility to work as few as 2 hours or as many as 20 hours per week! Not only does tutoring offer
flexible hours and
great pay ($9.50) for a campus job, but it is a valuable learning experience and
resume builder!
Students can tutor for any course in which they earned a ‘B’ or higher. For more information the application process, students can
contact Joshua Mitchell (
jjm1@iastate.edu) or visit
