December Book News from Edith Maxwell

Edith here, wishing everyone a very warm and cozy holiday season.

I spent some time this summer making a new web site to cover all my names and all my series! I hope you'll check it out. The banner at the top of this newsletter is my new unifying graphic, and it's an oil painting titled "Edith's World" that my best friend commissioned for my birthday two years ago. I love it.

I've been working hard on the
fourth book in the Local Foods seriesCompost Mortem, and I'm almost half done. You can see some pictures of parts of the story over on my Pinterest board for the book. The third book in the series, Farmed and Dangerous, will be out the first Tuesday in June, 2015. Isn't this the best cozy cover? 'Til Dirt Do Us Part and A Tine to Live, a Tine to Die continue to sell well, too.

I finished the first Country Store mystery series, Flipped for Murder, and sent it in two months ahead of schedule. That series has a Pinterest board, too. The book will be out on my birthday next November!

A couple of weeks ago Bluffing is Murder, my second Lauren Rousseau mystery, came out from Barking Rain Press (written as Tace Baker). I hope you'll check out this exciting story of a secretive land trust, murder on the bluffs, a suspense scene in an antique mansion, and the additional mystery of what happened to Lauren's father a couple of decades earlier.

I've been busy making the rest of my previously published short stories available as standalone ebooks, and they're all up now, just in time for that new ereader you're getting for Christmas! Links to all of them are here"A Fire in Carriagetown" even hit #9 on the Amazon Best Selling list for Kindle short mystery fiction for a while!

I've had a number of appearances this fall in libraries, farmers' markets, conferences, and bookstores, and it's been fun connecting with readers. I'm also now part of a North Shore cross-genre collaborative, the Nevertheless Writers. Besides me, there are authors who write tween fiction, women's fiction, memoir, and children's books. We've been talking at libraries all over the North Shore about our various paths to publication.

And I have one more piece of really, super exciting news that I just can't share yet, but I will as soon as I can.

Remember, I am happy to visit book groups, even Skyping into meetings. Just ask.

The Wicked Cozy Authors blog is going strong with all kinds of fun and intriguing posts every week day. We hope you'll stop by for a visit.

Thanks again for being fans of mystery and of my books. Authors are nowhere without readers! I thank you all from the bottom of my author heart for continuing to support my books and my dreams. Remember - a positive review is one of the most helpful things you can do for an author.

I'd love for you to visit my web site, check out my Author page over on Facebook, and connect with me on Twitter at @edithmaxwell. I'm also on Goodreads and Pinterest.

Be well, and keep reading!

Edith
