Christmas Newsletter 2014

"Do not be afraid.  I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.  Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord."  (Luke 2:10-11)
~The Promise and the Gift~
We have an amazing God, one who not only keeps His promises, but has greater plans than we can even imagine. A God who doesn't do things our way, but will do them the right way (1Corinthians 13:12).  A God who, no matter the situation, you can rely on to get you through. Just like the Jews of Jesus' time, we may not always understand what is going on, or why God seems to be "failing" in keeping His promises, but we can know that in the end, He will not only keep His promise, but amaze us in how He did it (Romans 8:28).
The Wonder of Christmas....as we ponder this last year I pray that forgiveness and healing relationships draw us all closer to the Lord and as we abandon all ideas of 'how it should be' we see God working in a different way than we would have ever expected. Far beyond the gifts and food is my heart's prayer that I can give all of me to whomever God asks me to share with this season. Pray that God's will be done this Christmas in every moment of the season, in and through our words and actions that all might know He truly is the one that came to save us.
May His light shine through all those that profess Him as Lord and Savior at Christmas and all through the year!

"Family" News
Pastor Eric and Catherine Kregel and their two little girls have moved from High Prairie to Edmonton.  Eric is now the senior pastor at Knox Evangelical Free Church, in the heart of Old Strathcona.  The Fusion team partnered with Eric and others while he was pastor at Bethel Baptist Church in High Prairie.  We look forward to continuing to work with the amazing folks in High Prairie, and seeing what the future holds for us with Eric in Edmonton!
Jocelyn and Kelly Hansen celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary on December 1!

Happy 60th Birthday, Ted Greenaway!  Best wishes for a fantastic next year!
The Fusion team is standing with Gordon Howell, who is grieving the loss of his father, Douglas P. Howell, who passed away at age 93 on November 21 in Sydney, BC.
Our Annual Christmas Party
Great conversations and memories from the Christmas Party on Sunday, December 7 @ Joce and Kelly's beautiful farm.

Global Mission Opportunity
Mission to Jamaica 2015
March 22 to April 4

Want to have a life changing experience?  Are you convinced there must be more to life than 'this'? Tired of the 'status quo'? Do you want to have time to ask God, 'What's the plan and purpose of this rat race we live in?'  Don't think of a mission trip as 'going to help those in need' ~~ think of it as a time to re-orient to the One who is what this life is all about. Are you wondering if it might be right for you to take part in a mission trip in 2015?  How about coming with us to Kingston, Jamaica next March?
You have a couple of choices: join us for either the first or second week, or do both weeks.
During the first week (March 22 - 28) we will be taking part in the "Foundations" course.  In the second week (March 29 to April 4) we will be working with kids and their families in Trench Town and Majesty Gardens.

6 Radical Decisions:  How small groups of Christ followers can change the world through Kingdom Cells
by Matt Garvin
This book describes a pattern for Christian mission that comes from reflection on the history of the Christian church and the social reality of the 21st Century.
6 Radical Decisions contains a small group study guide and is directly aimed at churches and individuals who want to explore what it means to effectively engage the community outside the walls of the church.
This book can be yours for $15.00 per copy!
