Friends life member Donna Thalacker will lead a walk on the Lower Suwannee Refuge. This little guy was seen on one of her Nature Walks at this time last year.

The Great Suwannee River Cleanup
Brazilian Pepper Eradication Continues

River Trail Work Day Coming Soon
In early January, Board member John Thalacker will lead a work crew to help make the River Trail more accessible. If you would be willing to spend a day of hard labor (well, maybe not all that hard) along the Trail with other Friends members, please email friends@friendsofrefuges.org and John will be in touch with details.

What Else is New at the Refuge?
Meet two new Refuge people.
- The first is David Murphy who has joined the Lower Suwannee staff as the new Federal Wildlife Officer. He transferred here from the Tennessee Refuge Complex and Fort Campbell, with prior duty stations in North Mississippi Refuge Complex. We will have a profile of him in the Winter Ibis.
- The second is Claire Vivian, daughter of Board member Jaime Jerrels. Special welcome to Claire, the cutie!
- We also have new art work, thanks to Ed DeHaan. Abundant appreciation from the Refuge staff, who were getting tired of the decade-old art on the walls.
