Traffic congestion towards Port Terminals at Nhava Sheva, India
Dear Customer:
Please be advised in the past week there has been increased congestion & long lines for export containers headed towards Nhava Sheva Port Terminal. Karal Phata is the main junction that connects all CFS’ & terminals (GTI, NSICT & JNPT), however the below factors have disrupted the normal flow of traffic and we are now experiencing heavy congestion & delays:
- Poor road conditions
- Ongoing construction
- JNPT upgrading their RMQC’s, causing vessels to berth at other terminals
- NSICT & GTI forced to handle the additional volumes above their capacity
Due to the above, both import & export cargo are being affected, and containers are not able to gate in & out in a timely manner.
