Renewable Energy Milestone

Green energy has become Scotland’s leading source of power producing a record 10.3 terawatt-hours of power in the first half of 2014. This tremendous milestone means we are on target to meeting 100% of our electricity demand from green energy sources by 2020! Read more details in The Scotsman.

Inspire the next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs to develop this technology by entering Junior Saltire Awards 2015!

This engaging, hands-on, topical competition sets the challenge of designing, building and testing a simple floating Wave Energy Converter. Grants of £50 are available for the first 75 teams submitting design blueprints and we cover travel and accomodation costs for shortlisted teams. Finalists will be invited to test their devices at FloWave's Ocean Energy Research Facility, which is the world’s most sophisticated ocean simulator. Furthermore, prizes of up to £750 and unique Saltire medals are up for grabs!
