It's the Holiday's Remember to BREATHE!

Does your Christmas look like the picture? For most of us that is the dream.
We are at that time of the year when the pressure to perform is at it's peak. There are dinner invitations, parties, family get togethers, present buying, the list goes on and on.
It's also the time of year when stress levels increase dramatically. The big reason - we think we are expected to act and be a certain way and quickly fall into old habituated patterns of interacting, especially around family. It's automatic... you find yourself sitting around the dining room table and being the 8-10-16 year old engaging in the same conversations and behaviours.
Consider something different this year. What would it look like if you chose what is meaningful to you? What if you were to choose making the fantasies you indulge come true? To not have to travel anywhere, or prepare the meal or having to split your time between families? Imagine being Selfish!
Consider This!
Imagine if all that was required was for you to take a breath. To relax your shoulders, soften your belly, inhale and EXHALE and then to ask "what is meaningful to me?" And then ask "Am I willing to choose what is meaningful to me?" The answer will be a simple yes or no. Either way, if you tell yourself the truth of your experience I guarantee you will not feel like you are being held hostage. Why, because you know you chose and guess what? You always get to change your mind.
