John Hermans on the GO

John Hermans, Director, Advancement Research, University of Toronto, was the earliest adopter of ProspectPRIME. Because ProspectPRIME saves John’s team substantial hours of labour-intensive work, John kindly agreed to participate in a short (2.5 minute) video to talk about how he uses it on the GO (Train). Our thanks to John, a great supporter of CharityCan and ProspectPRIME.

ProspectPRIME, is a powerful new research tool for prospect researchers and fundraisers. It is the result of a partnership between CharityCAN and DisclosureNet. ProspectPRIME provides advanced search functionality that allows its subscribers to build comprehensive wealth indicators on prospects and donors who are insiders at Canadian public companies.

A Family Affair

Third Sector Publishing has always been a family business, and it is now even more so. Owners Anderson and Susan Charters are pleased to note that the their third child, son Tim Charters, has been working with the company as a Marketing Associate for almost a year now, and has set his hand to improving many aspects of the business, not least the congenial atmosphere of the office.

Now, the oldest of their four children, Matthew, has joined Third Sector Publishing as Vice President, Software Development.

Matt comes to Third Sector Publishing with 10 years of software development experience in mobile and web. After graduating from the University of Waterloo with a degree in Computer Science he stayed in the Kitchener-Waterloo area and has now worked for both a large corporation (Blackberry) and two small startup tech companies (Well.ca and Tulip Retail) as a senior developer. A musician as well, he lives in Waterloo with his wife, Jen, and their dog, Phil.

Please look for some exciting additions and developments with CharityCAN in 2015.

Canadian Donor's Guide

Canadian Donor's Guide

The 2015-16 edition of Canadian Donor’s Guide will be published May, 2015. Requests to registered charities to provide their listings are being forwarded currently. The following testimonial from Jill Nelson, Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation, is just one of many that can be found here.

"The Canadian Donor's Guide is THE directory of charities for lawyers to refer their clients to. To us it is the ideal way to get clear accurate, reliable information in the hands of potential donors at the critical point where they are making a decision about their Estate plans. Our annual advertisement in the CDG is an essential element of our marketing plan."

Giving Tuesday Canada

Giving Tuesday

Did you participate in Giving Tuesday this year? It’s not too late to consider making a charitable donation or signing up to do some volunteer work.

At Third Sector Publishing we participated on December 2 by donating to our local food bank. President Anderson Charters has been a long-time board member of The Sharing Place in Orillia. Anderson and Susan Charters agreed to double any donations made to the Sharing Place by Third Sector Publishing team members on Giving Tuesday.

Please visit GivingTuesday.ca or CanadaHelps.org. You may also be motivated by the My Giving Moment campaign, inspired by His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston. He said in a recent interview "Our idea with our campaign was to try to ensure that giving of time, talent or treasure — old or young, rich or poor — became part of the culture of Canadians, became part of our DNA."
