Did you know that 70% of Oregon young adults (aged 18 to 25) DON'T binge drink? It's TRUE!
The Shared Future Coalition launched a new media campaign this month. It highlights the positive social norm that more young adults choose NOT to binge drink. Advertisements are airing on the radio and on web-based media outlets.
While the Shared Future Coalition is primarily charged with reducing binge drinking, research shows that raising awareness of valid positive norms can positively influence peer drinking behavior.
National experts define binge drinking
Binge Drinking Definitions
The definition of binge drinking is based on the average amounts of alcohol required for a person to reach a 0.08 blood alcohol level in about two hours.
