"In Transition 2.0: Gathering stories from around the world of ordinary people doing extraordinary things.
You’ll hear about communities printing their own money, growing food everywhere, localising their economies and setting up community power stations. It’s ... about responding to uncertain times with solutions and optimism.
In a world that is awash with gloom, here is a story of hope, ingenuity and the power of growing vegetables in unexpected places."
Waste Innovation Fund
It’s the second year for this great new fund.
The aim is to inspire and generate innovative or new waste reduction, reuse and recycling initiatives which divert household waste from treatment or disposal by Devon authorities. This £4,000 fund has been designed to stimulate innovation and creativity for Devon wide initiatives and aims to seed and support schemes at community level leading to reduced waste, improved recycling performance or greater participation and awareness of the 3Rs (reduce, reuse and recycle).

Please share this link with any contacts that may be interested and follow this link;    http://www.recycledevon.org/content/innovation-fund. Applications for the fund must be received by 6th March 2015.

Best regards

Roots to Transition
We've been a bit saddened by some vandalism which has split the waterbutt by the Rose Walk which had been donated by Lawson's ... and to think our major concern has been the ducks ... and even they haven't done any damage!

Still ... 2015 looks like an exciting year with some new ideas for the Rose Walk ... if you'd like to find out more about saving money on your food bills by growing your own get in touch at info@transitiontavistock.org.uk

Celebrating local food and getting growing – TT AGM

Make a note in your diaries ... we're planning a great celebration of local food and getting growing on Sat. 14th March 2015. We're putting the event team and the programme together at the moment.
  • Can you help?
  • Can you contribute?
  • Would you like to be part of the programme?
  • What would you like to see at the event?
Our initial ideas include:
  • Urban foraging - what can you find to forage in Tavistock in the middle of March?
  • Planning to grow your own in 2015 - share ideas on how to get growing - and join a short workshop
  • Growing with the whole family - getting everyone involved ... even in a small space
  • Roots to Transition growing plans for 2015
The event will include a short Transition Tavistock AGM where you can learn more about our achievements and plans.

Opportunity for self-builders on Dartmoor and Exmoor

A new project aimed at encouraging local people to get involved in building their own homes on Dartmoor and Exmoor was officially launched last week.
