New Health Project Investigates Dengue Fever

IC-IMPACTS is delighted to announce that it has funded a new project under its health theme.  Dr. Francois Jean (Canada) and Dr. Chattopadhyay (India) are leading research teams to innovate the detection of West Nile Virus and Dengue Fever in blood samples.  These new detection methods aim to save lives and transform communities around the world.

New Summer Institute for Graduate Students Launched

IC-IMPACTS is proud to announce the Summer Institute, an annual program that equips Canadian and Indian graduate students with skills in research, innovation, commercialization, and leadership. Canadian and Indian students will learn, connect, and collaborate together throughout the length of the program, strengthening the research and innovation relationship between Canada and India.

Space is limited: only 50 graduate level students will be selected to attend this program. Students accepted to attend will have their flights and accommodation covered, and will receive a certificate of completion.

Ganga River Essay Contest Launched for BC Students

IC-IMPACTS has launched a competition for students to showcase their innovative thinking. The competition focuses on restoring the Ganga River in India, one of the largest rivers in the world that faces serious pollution and contamination issues today. Students in grades 10, 11, and 12 are challenged to provide a solution that could help clean the Ganga River.

Essays must be submitted before Jan 30, 2015, where winners receive cash prizes as well as an invitation to the IC-IMPACTS Scientific Conference.

DST and IC-IMPACTS Partner for New Call for Research Proposals

The Department of Science Technology (DST) and IC-IMPACTS jointly launched a new call for research projects. This new call will help support collaborative research projects between Canada and India and will help develop innovative solutions to improve the health of citizens in both nations. Researchers focusing on innovative infrastructure and water-related research are encouraged to submit applications for funding.

IC-IMPACTS AGM & Conference Date Set

IC-IMPACTS has scheduled an Annual General Meeting and Research Conference on March 12 and 13, 2015 in Vancouver, Canada.  The format and schedule of the conference is currently being developed, stay tuned for details.

ConMat'15 Construction Materials Conference is reminding researchers that registration for the conference is now open.  Interested attendees may register through the ConMat'15 Conference website.
