Happy Holidays Bombers!

I know that we are all busy with the Holidays so while the month is still young and before it gets any crazier, I wanted to say hello, wish you the happiest of holidays and wrap up the year.  And since the time in 2014 is short, I'm cutting out the extra resources this month so you can get back to  enjoying the season.

Speaking of the season, I hope you all survived Black Friday and Cyber Monday and now I’d like to invite you to "Famous Friday"!  What is Famous Friday you ask?  Well, somehow I received an amazing invitation to be a guest on my dear friend Debbie Whitlock’s Femme Finance radio show (about the show) this listen online Friday, Dec. 5 at 9:00am PST.  I'm gonna be famous!!  :-)

OK, maybe not famous, but I have known Debbie since High School and she is an amazing business owner, entrepreneur, author, and all-around fantastic person so all I can promise is that with more than 20 years of history between us, it should be a great conversation.  She also made me promise not to swear on the radio, but that’s not one I am sure I can keep...  :-)

I also love the topic that we are going to talk about - “The Seven Sins To Success”.  We’ll be talking about how you can use Pride, Lust, Envy, Wrath, Greed, Sloth and Glutton in your business to succeed in 2015 - and still go to heaven!  I hope you’ll listen online here

I also want to say thank you so much for all of the great comments on November’s newsletter about saying ‘No’.  I hope you have had the chance to practice saying ’No’ a time or two and it has made a positive impact in your life.  It is awesome to hear your feedback on how and where you put that into play in your lives.  Thank you!

Which brings me to my last question for 2014... Are You Santa Claus?

Kind of a weird question right?  But as this year has played out for me with conversations I have had and the feedback from friends and family, there have been several times where I have been left deeply moved by hearing the impact I have had in other's lives.  And when I hear this, I am usually thinking, “Ummm... I am just trying to get through my life as best I can in the best way I know how.  How is that making a difference to you?”   I share that not to be boastful or minimize the impact, but rather to make the point that I often take for granted or don’t consider the impact I can have in my community and how much it can mean to people.

For me, thinking about how and where I make a difference and being accountable to that responsibility challenges me to consider how I can be the best 'me' as often as possible.  That's scary because that's not always the easy choice and it often requires tough decisions, risks, vulnerability and learning new things.  But like with saying no, that’s also where the magic in life can happen for you and those around you. This is one of my favorites and a great reminder...

Our Greatest Fear

by Marianne Williamson

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous,
talented and fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be?

Your playing small does not serve the world.
There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other
people won't feel insecure around you.

We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.

And as we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other people
permission to do the same.

As we are liberated from our own fear,
Our presence automatically liberates others.

But how does this relate to Santa?  Do you remember being a kid this time of year and how anxious you were for Santa to come?  How much he made you want to be a better person, if only for a short time? ;-)  Remember Buddy’s reaction in Elf? (Side Note: I love this movie!)

For me, just the belief in a Santa and all his elves that were so kind, loving, gracious and magical made the whole world a better place.

What's my point?  I think that we all have people in our lives that look to us as Santa or an elf that makes their world easier, happier, funnier more meaningful or just a better place because we are there.  And whether we know it or not, or even if it is only one time a year - we can make a positive difference in their lives.

So as you take in all that is the Holiday Season, spend a few minutes thinking about who Santa and the elves are for you in your life and be sure to tell them how much they mean to you and how they have made a difference.  And as 2015 gets closer,  think about how you can be a Santa or an elf to others because I believe that is a great step to accomplishing all that you want to achieve in the New Year.  And then what you ask?

Well, in Whoville they will say that your heart will grow 3 sizes each day. And then - the true meaning of your life will come through and you’ll find the strength of 10 Grinches, plus two!

You are all amazing and I wouldn’t be here without you - best of the season to you and yours!
