Holiness, Godliness, Usefulness

Lesson 542: I Am With You
David offered to die instead of his people; God told him to buy land & build an altar.
The land he bought for the altar is the threshing floor where his son Solomon built the Temple.
2 Chron.3:1 It is the same place where Abraham took Isaac to sacrifice: Mount Moriah. Gen.22
It is where Jesus died for our sins, and where He will return to rule from David’s throne.
Some Christians lack assurance of salvation; they live in fear that they are not truly saved.
Even if they have trusted Christ and turned from their sin, they don’t feel worthy of Jesus.
They constantly desire some sort of proof to confirm that God has really forgiven them.
Jesus did not need to jump from the Temple to see God’s protection; He saw it by faith.
Psa.91 doesn’t promise that God’s children will never suffer; it says the trials won’t destroy us.
God promises to protect us during the trial, and deliver us out of the trial.
Psa.91:14-15 I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he knows my name. I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him
About This Series
The goal of this series is to become more useful in serving the Lord Jesus Christ, as an instrument in the Redeemer's hand. The theme verses for the series are Ephesians 4:22-24, Philemon 11, 2 Timothy 2:21
- to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,
- and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
- Formerly he was useless to you, but now he is indeed useful to you and to me.
- Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.
