DUECES, FALL QUARTER...ALMOST.

December 2014

Well, it is the final week before your last exams of the fall quarter. How surreal is it to know that you moved to campus (or started Wildcat Welcome, for off-campus students) 79 days ago?! Campus will be filled with stress relief-based programming over the next week to help you end the quarter staying well; we've highlighted some of those programs below. Remember, University Library and Norris are now open 24/7 with free coffee each night on the Norris ground floor...but please take some time to sleep.
Good luck on final exams. You've got this.

In the past 79 days, you've done and experienced a great deal. Because of that, there are two things you are encouraged to do:
1. Write out a study plan for next week. Use our calendar to give yourself a visual of the next week, but also ensure you schedule in some of the events we've listed below to balance out your studying.
2. Reflect on what you've learned this quarter. And we don't just mean in class. You're in a brand new community of people and you are bound to have learned something from that. Use our sheet to help guide you through some reflection. Hey, it'll help you in the long run better discuss your time at NU and what you've experienced!
Friday, December 5, 10 a.m. (Tech)
ASG will have the Cotton Candy machine running outside of Tech; stop by to grab a dose of childhood memories (while supplies last).

Many students ask about traveling home for break, how to get to the airport or if there is a bus they can take home. Below are just a few options other students have found helpful in the past.
  • Pace Route 250:  This bus picks up at Davis and takes to you the O’Hare Kiss-n-Fly ATS Station for less than $2 each way; this isn’t a direct route so it will take about 1.5 hours.
  • CTA: If you are flying out of Midway, you can spend $2.25 and ride the El down. The route takes about 1.5 hours with very easy switches from Purple to Red to Orange.
  • Taxi: The flat rate provided by 303 Taxi Company (just one of many taxi companies) is $32 for service to O’Hare (30-40 min) and $55 for service to Midway (50-60 min)
  • Megabus: This company leaves from the loop area and sends busses to a number of locations with service usually being pretty inexpensive. Service can be viewed at megabus.com
