Developing Social Skills

Presented by
Sarah Strasser MS, CCC-SLP And Shellie Bader MA, CCC-SLP

Based on Michelle Garcia Winner’s work along with other experts in the field, this workshop examines the development of social thinking skills and strategies for effective treatment. Exploring theoretical background and the building blocks necessary to develop social skills, this course digs deeper into the meaning of “social skills”, the importance of understanding individual deficits, the role of social skills in a student’s general development, weaknesses that are associated with various developmental disorders, as well as assessment and intervention for children with social skills challenges.

This course highlights some of the methodologies in the Social Thinking! Curriculum.
