Lesson 335: Ministries of the Holy Spirit
The Spirit has many ministries: indwelling believers, bestowing gifts, convicting, comforting, leading us and releasing us from the law.
Gal.5:18 if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
Rom.7:6 released from the law, we serve in the new way of the Spirit and not in the old way of the written code.
Rom.14:17 the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
Perhaps the most important ministry is revelation. The Spirit helps us receive & believe truth. Spiritual truth is revealed by the Holy Spirit to believers only.
1 Cor.2:14 The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.
2 Tim.3:15-16 the holy Scriptures are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.
The Holy Spirit is the source of all Scripture, and our teacher.
2 Pet.1:21 men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit
About This Series
The goal of this series is to become more useful in serving the Lord Jesus Christ, as an instrument in the Redeemer's hand. The theme verses for the series are Ephesians 4:22-24, Philemon 11, 2 Timothy 2:21
- to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,
- and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
- Formerly he was useless to you, but now he is indeed useful to you and to me.
- Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.
