Lesson 338: With Gentleness, Respect and Love
When you share your faith with others, be genuinely concerned about their heart, not about winning the argument. Peter says to do this with gentleness and respect. 1 Pet.3:15
Gentleness is a fruit of the Spirit. Gal.5:22-23
Gal.6:1 Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted.
Prov.15:1 A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.
Heb.10:24 stir up one another to love and good works.
Gal.5:6,13 The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love. Serve one another humbly in love.
1 Pet.4:8 Above all, keep loving one another.
1 John 3:11,23,4:7,11,12
John says "love one another" 5 times.
John 13:34-35 love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this, all people will know that you are my disciples. (John 15:12)
The heart of being a believer is remaining faithful to Christ; He is the only reward worth living for.
About This Series
The goal of this series is to become more useful in serving the Lord Jesus Christ, as an instrument in the Redeemer's hand. The theme verses for the series are Ephesians 4:22-24, Philemon 11, 2 Timothy 2:21
- to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,
- and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
- Formerly he was useless to you, but now he is indeed useful to you and to me.
- Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.
