Lesson 341: Flee Toward Love, Pt.2
God recognizes the danger when we don’t, so He is steering us away from traps.
Num.32:23 you have sinned against the Lord, and be sure your sin will find you out.
We are not to go near the path of the wicked; turn away from it. Prov.4:14-15
You know yourself well enough to stay far from situations where it is hard for you to resist.
Even when the way of escape is available, sometimes believers choose not to take it.
They consider the fleeting pleasure of sin too desirable; they refuse to turn away.
Just after Paul’s command to flee, he turns unexpectedly to communion.
1 Cor.10:16-17 The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ? The bread that we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ? Because there is one bread, we who are many are one body, for we all partake of the one bread.
The Lord’s Supper remembers the body and blood that our Savior sacrificed for us.
About This Series
The goal of this series is to become more useful in serving the Lord Jesus Christ, as an instrument in the Redeemer's hand. The theme verses for the series are Ephesians 4:22-24, Philemon 11, 2 Timothy 2:21
- to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,
- and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
- Formerly he was useless to you, but now he is indeed useful to you and to me.
- Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.
