In between running the very-much-killin'-it label This Thing and producing his own solo work at a prolific rate, you'd think Wooshie wouldn't have the time for completely shaking up the way you experience your homegrown electronic music. However, the This Thing-curated Display Home series is doing exactly that.

Sometimes the term 'experimental' is thrown around, like a conservative relative talking about your life choices or the menu at the new ramen joint in town. Soft Power is not any of these things, but an ethereal, introspective experiment in the truest sense. It's 3am on a Wednesday morning and you are deep in technology paralysis, staring at a screen and thinking about that crack in the wall, reading your words over and over again. You're probably ready to listen to If You Come Around: You Know What Happens.

This is less of an 'objective investigation' into Gen Y's relationship with foodie culture and more of an extended essay ruminating on its social effects and wider ethical concerns from a personal perspective. Ronnie is an ethically conscious man but he's also a lover of fine dining. How can we begin to reconcile the two?

'No Homers Club' - your name is your folk's fault most of the time. Having a clubhouse where members are recruited due to a specific skill set is a little more fair – quality control, right? And when your club requires a graphic equivalent of a triple threat then the bar is high. The talent-filled Curtin Illustration Club launched their first graphic novel Myth this week.

A lot of critics have commented that 20,000 Days on Earth is only of worth to the musician's fans. Not true. I'll be honest, my own Nick Cave knowledge starts and ends with the Dogs in Space soundtrack, so I went in already glancing at my watch with an eyebrow raised so high I could pull it into a top knot. What followed was an engaging portrait of an artist who is able to do – and is doing – whatever the hell he wants at this point in his life and career.

This shy, unassuming indie guy is suddenly making sweet love in the leaves and performing a record that's so constantly groovy it urges us to do the same. That said, it's not like he's totally done away with all his likeable, wistful elements. Closer 'Centre Of The Room' in particular plays out like vintage Geoffrey O'Connor party fatigue.

Mate, the Victoria Bitter ads are some of the best 30 second stuff out there – instead of Marketing 101 fear mongering the fellas from Victoria Bitter let you know that your hard work deserves some liquid gold. West Aussies used to hit King Brown's of Swanny and Bush Chook's of Emu Bitter and Export with a bit more pride a few years back, when it was locally made. Since the Swan Brewery split WA, Master Brewer Ken Arrowsmith (the dude on the bitter can) also known as 'Ken Oath picked up a paper route. Now Ken's tossed his last daily rag because he's now at the helm of Perth's own urban brewery, Northbridge Brewing Company.

Perth's fave dial locking, radio signal RTRFM 92.1 are hosting their huge Radiothon Party this Friday. The community broadcast crew are at that time of year where they call listeners and supporters of local music and independent broadcasting to dust off their wallets and support 'em. Kicking it all off is the huge party which takes over all the good parts of the Bridge including The Bird, The Bakery, Ya-ya's and Flyrite.

The lineup hosts just under 20 of Perth's best acts with some of our faves bringing top notch sounds from rock out to get down. Lower Spectrum, Hamjam, Savoir, Kučka, Sable and RTRFM's Cloudwaves DJs will be playing to name a few. The Radiothon Party is all about getting your crew and cruising between venues on a one-ticket wristband.

By no means is this a shitty little tour. Seekae made two internationally acclaimed albums in 2008 and 2011, became founders of a whole scene and sound in Australian electronic music, and then kinda slid off the radar. There hadn't been so much as a peep until late last year when 'Another' was dropped out of the sky and an album, The Worry, was announced for release in 2014. Now, the time has come and the London/Sydney trio are ready to drop the baby and are touring ahead of the September 5 release. You want more? Stones Throw Records dream-beat babe Jonti is teaming up for the tour. A new single has been released, they made a trailer for the album and you can already pre-order it on iTunes. Additional support from Savior.
