JOIN US FOR HOMECOMING SUNDAY, AUGUST 10, AT 510 WOODLAND
August 10 is our annual HOMECOMING SUNDAY and we will "welcome home” former pastors/staff, special guests, and friends, along with our regular First Church family. Here's our schedule:
9:00 AM     Celebration Worship with Rev. Doug Runyan preaching
10:30 AM   Sunday School classes meet, along with a reception for the Runyans
11:30 AM   Homecoming Potluck Lunch and Special Singing

Lunch features Whitt's BBQ provided by the church. Church families, bring the following dishes:
Families with last name beginning A-L   Bring vegetable dish and salad
Families with last name beginning M-Z  Bring side item and a dessert dish

A special welcome to Rev. Doug Runyan, who will preach in morning worship. Doug and Pam served as youth pastors here at First Church from 1982-89 and their three children—Jason, Lauren, and Ashley—grew up among us. The entire family will be here and will greet friends and guests in The Press downstairs during the Sunday School hour, hosted by the Koinonia Class, as well as during the potluck lunch. Be here for a wonderful time of re-connecting!

NFCN YOUTH GROUP REUNION SATURDAY NIGHT
Those who participated in our youth ministry any time from 1982-91 under the Runyans or the Oldhams are invited to gather on Saturday night, August 9 at 6:30 PM in The Press for a casual reunion. There will be lots of laughter, catching up, and seeing old pictures, with cookies and tea/coffee/lemonade served. Spouses/kids are invited (no child care provided). Please email Tina at tdiehl@nfcn.org to let us know you are coming.

KING'S MEN, NEXT SATURDAY, AUGUST 16, AT 8;00 AM
As the Runyans did in 1991, Monte and Bethany Cyr made the transition from youth ministry to missions during the 1990's, and will be here to share with the monthly meeting of King's Men on Saturday, August 16, at 8:00 AM in the Fellowship Hall. Monte is regional coordinator for discipleship in Mesoamerica and travels throughout the Caribbean and Central America training leaders to disciple children, youth, and adults. It's a SPECIAL treat to host the Cyrs, and men/women/ youth/older children are all invited to attend. Bring a couple of dollars for the breakfast!
