CLIMARTE will be attending the  2014 Art + Environment Conference at the Nevada Museum of Art. Since 2008, the Conference has gathered together the premiere makers of “art that walks in the world.”

This year will include presentations and exhibitions around themes including animals, geoaesthetics, fieldwork, social practice, social justice and sustainability: in short, a range of the ways in which art engages with the great concerns of our time.

The Environmental Film Festival Melbourne entertains with groundbreaking films, traversing the relationship between humans and their environments, challenging the way people think about the natural world and inspiring them to discuss, explore and act on important environmental issues.

EFFM 2014 runs from 4 - 12 September at the Kino Cinema. CLIMARTE is a proud EFFM Community Partner.

Low-Carbon Futures

CLIMARTE's Guy Abrahams is one of a number of people interviewed in this short video that gives insights into what our cities might look like as we move towards a low-carbon Australia.

Produced by the Victorian Eco-innovation Lab at the University of Melbourne, Visions, Scenarios and Pathways for Low-Carbon Resilient Futures in Australian Cities is a project that combines research with a range of creative engagement strategies to develop visions and scenarios for Australian cities in 2040.

Siteworks is Bundanon’s annual spring event which brings scientists, artists and community voices together to share knowledge and ideas arising from the Bundanon sites through a series of discussions, presentations and experiences.

The 2014 Siteworks will be held on the weekend of 27-28 September 2014 at the Bundanon site, and will turn its attention to ideas around biodiversity, with a particular focus on the concept of earth law.


Spatial Dialogues investigates the environmental and cultural significance of water in three cities in the Asia-Pacific region: Melbourne, Shanghai and Tokyo.  At RMIT Project Space Spare Room until 14 August.

The Human Impacts Institute’s Fourth Annual Creative Climate Call to Action brings together the visual arts, performance art, and film to install climate-inspired public works throughout New York Cit as part of Climate Week NYC 2014.
