The Riverside Drive – West End Avenue corridor experienced a very active market during the first half of 2014, with properties across the board by and large selling quickly. Although most of the media attention is focused on new development and condominium sales, the inventory here is predominately cooperative buildings. Depending on the size and quality of the property and the building, the average price per square foot has increased in the 10 to 20% range from a year ago. Similar to the rest of the city, larger co-ops had the biggest price increases – the 3-bedroom-plus category gained 22% in median price as compared to mid-2013.
