"Green" Buildings Thriving in LA Real Estate Market, According to CoStar Report
A CoStar report released in mid-July indicated that green buildings are out-performing traditional buildings throughout the California market. The benefits of â€œgoing green” — for the purposes of this study defined as LEED or ENERGY STAR certified — are even greater for building owners in the Los Angeles region.

The data, which surveyed 296 ENERGY STAR certified existing buildings and 255 LEED-certified existing buildings alongside 1,975 traditional (non-green) buildings in Los Angeles, confirms that energy and water savings upgrades (which satisfy a large number of the qualifications for receiving a green certification) are a profitable and worthwhile investment for Los Angeles building owners and property managers. SoCal Gas and LADWP Respond to California Drought Emergency
The Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas) and the Los Angeles Department of Water & Power (LADWP) have partnered to offer free installation of water-efficient and money-saving low-flow shower heads and faucet aerators to large multi-family property owners in their joint-service territory.

From now until December 2014, the program aims to provide up to 20,000 multifamily units with no-cost installation of water-saving appliances estimated to save 72,000,000 gallons of water and 168,000 therms of natural gas.

Contact us find out how your Multifamily or Affordable Housing Unit can take advantage of the direct install program, garner other industry-specific rebates, and become an LABBC Partner. For specific questions on the direct install program, contact Honeywell.
