Lesson 322: Victory Over Sin
Everyone struggles with different temptations: alcohol, gambling, pornography, adultery, etc.
But the same enemy is working to ruin every person. Satan wants to destroy our lives with sin.
The battle for holiness is serious; victory over sin is more important than protecting our pride.
Victory over temptation requires us to use every resource God provides. Daily, each moment, we must claim His promise that He loves us.
We must fill our mind with Scripture, pray, seek godly counselors, confess our sins to God and to others, and truly repent when we fail.
But none of these works, or our faith to do them, earns us “points” with God. He provides our armor. He gives us the victory.
Eph.6:12-13 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.
1 Cor.15:57 thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
About This Series
The goal of this series is to become more useful in serving the Lord Jesus Christ, as an instrument in the Redeemer's hand. The theme verses for the series are Ephesians 4:22-24, Philemon 11, 2 Timothy 2:21
- to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,
- and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
- Formerly he was useless to you, but now he is indeed useful to you and to me.
- Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.
