Lesson 325: Boast in the Lord
Without God’s Son, we can do nothing.
John 15:5 Jesus said, “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.”
This takes away every reason we might have to brag.
Rom.3:27-28 what becomes of our boasting? It is excluded. By what kind of law? By a law of works? No, by the law of faith. we hold that one is justified by faith apart from works of the law.
1 Cor.1:28-31 God chose what is low… so that no human being might boast in the presence of God. And because of him you are in Christ Jesus… “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.”
1 Cor.4:7 who sees anything different in you? What do you have that you did not receive? If then you received it, why do you boast as if you did not receive it?
2 Cor.10:17-18 “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.” it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.
Gal.6:14 far be it from me to boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ
Psa.44:8 In God we have boasted continually, and we will give thanks to your name forever.
About This Series
The goal of this series is to become more useful in serving the Lord Jesus Christ, as an instrument in the Redeemer's hand. The theme verses for the series are Ephesians 4:22-24, Philemon 11, 2 Timothy 2:21
- to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,
- and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
- Formerly he was useless to you, but now he is indeed useful to you and to me.
- Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.
