 News & Upcoming Events

THANK YOU to all our 2014 Festival Volunteers

A remarkable group of more than 40 volunteers helped us park 2,695 bicycles at the Newport Folk Fest this year!  The story of more than one-tenth of Folk Fest attendees arriving by bike was picked up by the Associated Press and distributed to news outlets nationwide - your efforts were certainly noticed and celebrated! Thanks to Folk Fest sponsor REI for bringing volunteers to our parking and mechanics to our Tune-Up Tent. The Jazz Fest always sees decidedly fewer cyclists, but this year we had some seriously wet weather to make it even more challenging. Even so, 60-70 diehard jazz cats braved the rains each day. Thanks to all who helped out!

Paid Research Opportunity for Youth

We are looking for youth road auditors aged 16-25 for upcoming assignments. This would involve being stationed near Newport's busiest intersections to observe and collect important data on cyclist and motorist behavior. Commitment is six hours total, and pay is $10/hr. If interested, send your name and letter of interest to Liza.

Volunteers Needed:
