Note From Kendra
Dear Friends,
I am excited about the release of the new and highly spirited All Things Alchemical monthly e-newsletter! I vow to bring you content that can guide you to transform your life in some way, and bring value to you as well. All Things Alchemical is one e-newsletter where you will find topics that bring together spirit, mind, and health in bytes.
Some content you will be familiar with, and there are new sections as well. The streamlined flow connects you to my website and social media sites to share. Here is a peek at the new sections.
Inspiration – inspired creativity through prayers, quotes, stories, links, anything that may provide inspiration for you
Health – Educational content that covers body, spirit, and health: recipes, interesting guest blogs, watchdog type stories on food and nutrition, links to other sites, movie clips etc. This section, in particular, I have always been passionate about. What we can do as well as what we can put into our bodies to help create balance and harmony and rid ourselves of dis-ease has always interested me.
Symbolism - I use symbolism in my practice of intuitive coaching and spiritual direction, and in this issue I use my logo as an example by deciphering its symbolism for you. Numerology, animal wisdom, astrology, and dreams are examples of what you may see. Symbolism lets us explore the unknown and expand our consciousness.
During my time off from writing to figure out what All Things Alchemical means to me and why I like to connect with all of you, 3 things came to light:
- Why I love to write
- What content inspires the passion I have for transformation and the desire I have to share it
- The importance of providing useful information that adds value to your life
I was reminded that you have little time to spare these days to sort through the endless emails that pop up on your computer and your handheld devices; so, it needs to be interesting and juicy!
So after 5 months of working with my team, this is the new version of All Things Alchemical.
In gratitude,

Archetype
Pioneer
(Explorer, Settler, Pilgrim, Innovator, Entrepreneur)
The Pioneer is called to discover and explore new lands, whether that territory is external or internal. The passion to explore the South Pole is as much a pioneering endeavor as the passion to explore medicine or spiritual practice. Even initiating new fashions, art, music, literature, or business ventures may qualify as expressions of this archetype. The core ingredient is innovation-doing and creating what has not been done before. To consider this archetype seriously as one of your twelve, your life must be characterized by a need to step on fresh and undiscovered territory in at least one realm.
The shadow Pioneer manifests as a compulsive need to abandon one’s past and move on, just as the Don Juan or Femme Fatal “pioneers” ever new conquests. Those who are forced out of their homeland and made into unwilling Pioneers- the Jews of the Diaspora, Africans bound into slavery, Tibetan Buddhists, or Native Americans- should not be included under the shadow, however.
Films: Debbie Reynolds in How the West Was Won; Jean Arthur and Van Heflin in Shane; Judy Garland in The Harvey Girls; Jackie Robinson in The Jackie Robinson Story.
Television: Wagon Train, Bonanza, Little House on the Prairie.
Fiction: Lost Horizons by James Hilton; O Pioneers! By Willa Cather.
Religion/Myth: Nana-Ula (seafaring pioneer who led his people on a voyage of 2,500 miles from Tahiti to Hawaii over a thousand years ago); Bodhidharma (Buddhist patriarch who carried the teachings from India to China and established the tradition that came to be known as Zen); Hagar (handmaiden of Abraham who brought her son, Ishmael, to the Becca Valley of Arabia and established the Arab people).

Symbology
The Symbology behind my logo.
I believe that C. G. Jung’s idea about symbols is the most useful and dynamic. Although, I am biased because my coaching and spiritual direction process with people is heavily influenced by the psychological school of Jung. Jung’s idea about symbolism specifically is captured in his quotation: “The significance of a symbol is not that it is a disguised indication of something that is generally known, but it is an endeavor to elucidate by analogy what is as yet completely unknown and only in the process of formation.”
Jung believed that the use of symbols and one’s own interpretation/translation lead to the missing part of the whole person, the part that is still unconscious, still in the process of becoming.
The symbolism of my logo was discussed in great length with an incredible team that consisted of a creative director, copywriter, and artist who took my vision and created the most perfect logo for my company, rich with symbolism.
THE CARDINAL:
KEYNOTE: Renewed Vitality through Recognizing Self-Importance
CYCLE OF POWER: Year-round (often with the rhythm of 12 - hours, days, months, years)
The Cardinal’s presence reflects a time to renew our vitality and recognize the importance of our own life roles. It reflects lessons in developing and accepting a new sense of our own true self-importance. The archetypal energies and influence associated with them can be accessed all year long, as they are usually year-round residents. - Ted Andrews, Animal Speak
THE COLORS: Red is the color of the first (base of spine) chakra. Green is the color of the fourth (heart) chakra. The nest is made of the Golden thread by which we are all connected; every experience we have in life weaves a beautiful tapestry of our lives. (For in-depth information on the chakras, please visit my website library.)
TAGLINE: “Live aligned with your truth.” Our life is in constant process to bring us to a knowing that we can no longer live any other way but what is true for us, and we are worthy of showing up in our lives.
