A Big Thank You to Chalice: On behalf of our family we would like to thank Reverend Abby, Scott and Kelly, Carol Grisez and the many people who helped organize and implement the many details for the memorial service of our son Michael West. The beautiful decorations, the delicious food, the baby sitting, and the operational details required to orchestrate such a meaningful event was impeccable. We invite prayers for Rev. Danny Thompson and family, His wife, Maurica, succumbed to her struggle with a recently diagnosed and very aggressive form of cancer on August 1. Many of you will know Maurica from her years of service with Disciples. Maurica has served with our General Church as a Disciples Women's staff member, and QA Coordinator. She most recently worked with the QA 2014 Pilgrimage Events. Maurica has served the Region in a number of ways, including our Anti Racism - Pro Reconciling Committee, and as the Local Arrangements Chair for our 2006 Regional Assembly hosted by her home congregation, First Christian, Mesa, in 2008. She has participated over the past few years as FCC's Congregational Representative, attending the Pastor Rep Luncheons in Phoenix.
A service will be held at First Christian Church 805 N. Country Club, Mesa
