Sanford Worthington nurses ratify contract
Five months of signs supporting nurses in yards and businesses, packed meeting rooms, talking to community residents and petitions led to a new contract for nurses at Sanford Worthington Medical Center.
Nurses voted in favor of a new three-year contract yesterday.
"Community support was essential in securing this contract," said Bargaining Unit Co-Chair Nancy Ihrke. "Worthington area residents showed they value nurses and the important role we play in the community by displaying 'We Support Our Nurses' signs in their yards and businesses and voicing support and appreciation."
"We stood up for a fair contract that attracts and retains quality nurses," said Bargaining Unit Co-Chair Monica McCoy. "This contract benefits patients, staff and the entire community."
