A Whirlwind
Reflections on Transitions
Don't you just hate moving? How would you like moving twice in less than two weeks? We tried it, and we don't recommend it! On Monday, June 23, we loaded up U-Haul #1 and moved Rachelle to Michigan. We made the drive from Paducah to Grand Rapids on Tuesday and unloaded. On Thursday, we started back to Paducah (after a wonderful lunch with our friends, John and Linda Seaman). We spent all day Friday preparing for our yard sale on Saturday. We had services on Sunday morning at the Madisonville church with some wonderful people and our good friends, Dan and Robbie Bradshaw. In the evening, we were back at the Paducah church for a zone missions service with the Benton, Mayfield and Paducah churches. It was a wonderful time! On Monday, I did some grading for two courses that I am teaching for Ohio Christian University. The next two days, I packed boxes. We loaded U-Haul #2 on Thursday with my dad's help. On Friday, July 4th, Carla and I started with the truck toward Nashville. We started unloading it that day, but decided to build a shed in which to store household items during our service in Africa. (I know! I know! I should have built this beforehand, but didn't want to put the burden on anyone else when I had been so busy.) Anyway, we got the building built (more or less) and the truck unloaded on Monday. Praise the Lord! I'll never do that again! (Or will I?)
