Map it Fast!

Ready for New Participation

M.OpenGreenMap.org  is our new Mobile Site Collector for interactive Green Maps! This handy webapp makes it easy for everyone to collect new green sites as they visit them.

Now, Green Mapmakers, tourists, students and locals can collect great green living sites and quickly add up to 8 icons and a photo. Every new site is reviewed by the local Mapmaker, and when it goes live on the map, the person who collected it is notified.

Transforming how Green Maps are made, the Mobile Site Collector can be used with smart phones, tablets or computer. It has 13 language options, thanks to the contributions of the 65-country Green Map network. It even works offline!

Give it a try next time you are at a green site that should be on the Green Map! GreenMap.org/mobile has a video, tips and credits, or simply try it out!

Designed by Romanian Green Mapmakers and developers for Green Map System, we look forward to more co-production of mobile resources!

 Collector Workshop:
United Nations District

Our first Collector Workshop drew participants from 7 countries, who assessed and charted neighborhood resources. Organized by summer interns Benji Shulman and Samatha Riccio and hosted by Global Action to Prevent War, a United Nations-based NGO, outcomes include this blog and the Collector Workshop Guide for our Mobile page.  You can help us develop more tech tools that meet a diversity of needs!

In NYC: This summer, we tackled a new topic and began putting sustainable fashion on the map: conscious production, fair trade, reused, upcycled, hand-made, garment care and more.

Explore OpenGreenMap.org/NYCfashion. Read more about the criteria in Samantha's blog. Thanks to Patagonia Soho's support, this map is ready to be shared - request an interactive, embeddable edition for your website or blog. At your favorite shop? Use the new Site Collector to add it to the map!

On NYC's Staten Island, the Port Richmond Summer Leadership Academy based at Faber Park and Wagner College used Green Mapmaking to set the baseline of a 3-summer project. Culminating year 1, this launch and tour took place August 7, 2014
