Harvest Luncheon a Hit!

The WCA’s Harvest Luncheon, coordinated by Margaret Monto, drew 35 appreciative diners on Saturday, September 27 at the Red Barn on Village Road.
Bedecked with pumpkins, mums and cornstalks, the building became a festive venue for this harvest event that promotes locally grown foods. A four-course meal was served featuring appetizer, salad, main course and desserts, primarily from local farms and homes, including: Aldrich Homestead, Curren-Neustadt Farm, Fred’s Farm, Fruit Cake Farm, Huntoon Farm, Muster Field Farm, and Wild Meadow Farm.

5th Annual Scarecrow Contest
Join your neighbors and build the best scarecrow in Wilmot! Folks who live off the beaten path are welcome to build their creations on the front lawn of the WCA’s Red Barn. Deadline for entries is Wednesday, October 15. The event is co-sponsored by the WCA and the Wilmot Garden Club. More information.
Trick or Treat!
The young and young at heart are invited to don a costume and join the fun at the WCA’s annual Halloween Party from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, October 31 at the WCA’s Red Barn. Trick or treaters will find plenty of tasty goodies. Thanks in advance to Rachel and Keith Seamans for decorating the Barn and passing out cider, cookies, and candy. More information.
Next Senior Lunch October 16
Monthly senior lunches are hosted by the Wilmot Ladies Aid Society and the Community Action Program (CAP). The next one is Thursday, October 16 at the WCA’s Red Barn. Twenty-nine people enjoyed a delicious hot meal at September's lunch that provided a great opportunity to meet old friends and connect with new ones after the summer break. Save the Date – Holiday Craft Fair
Make your list! Check it twice! The WCA’s annual Holiday Craft Fair is Saturday, December 6 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Outing Club’s Indoor Center next to the elementary school at 114 Cougar Court in New London. Local crafters and artisans are invited to participate. Chairperson and crafter Kathy Neuberger is now taking vendor applications. Currently, this diverse group includes a junior at Kearsarge Regional High School, parents, and retired folks. All have a common goal—to have fun while ensuring that your Association continues to fulfill its mission of providing facilities for social, educational and recreational activities in Wilmot. Annual Fund Winding Down
Thank you, thank you to everyone who contributed to the WCA’s 2014 Annual Fund! If you have not yet donated, please consider supporting the WCA by responding to the recent mailing. We are a private not-for-profit organization and generate income from membership dues, rental fees, grants, and proceeds from fund-raising events.
Thanks to the generosity of many donors, the Annual Fund provides nearly 15 percent of the Association’s annual budget. Proceeds are used to maintain and upgrade the Red Barn and Timothy Patten Park; for on-going operations; and to provide free activities for the community.

Many talented instructors and experts offer public classes, workshops, and events at the WCA's Red Barn each month.
Seasonal Flu Clinic
The Lake Sunapee Region Visiting Nurse Association will hold a flu shot clinic on October 23 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the WCA’s Red Barn at 64 Village Road in Wilmot. The clinic is for anyone 19 years of age or older. More information.
Mediumship & More: An Afternoon of Psychic Arts
Psychic mediums Lucia Read and Dawn Drew will be at the WCA’s Red Barn from 1 to 3 p.m on Saturday, November 1 for a demonstration of mediumship and psychic arts followed by private readings from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Contact Jane E. King more information and tickets.
