Upcoming Events:
MCC, GenEq, and Afro House would like to invite you to our FIRST MCC Wednesday of the Year:

“Breathe Love”
featuring
Monica McIntyre
Wednesday September 3rd, 2014!

“Breathe Love” will consist of a 90-minute self-care workshop in which participants will focus their bodies as primary landscape for justice, examining ways in which we do or do not support our personal wellness. Participants will learn and practice meditation techniques, visualization exercises, affirmations, and more. We will use arts, writing, and activities for self-reflection to begin or continue to work through difficult lived experiences and emotions as a means of working towards healing.

Our intent behind this event is to create a space for celebration of individual stories and community to transform internalized trauma and oppression into healing and empowerment. Following the workshop, Monica will share her music and lyrics in a short concert carrying forward similar messages from the workshop about personal and community wellness.

Join us Wednesday, September 17th, 2012 from 4-7 P.M. (Hearst Field Annex D-37) for an amazing evening of community building, speakers, entertainment, and of course free food!

The Multicultural Community Center serves as a vibrant center that strives to meet the needs and respond to the challenges students and community-members face on a daily basis.
