Picturesque news from the Garden

Hello & bonjour

Very BON JOUR. I , LIB, am home from TGH with Muscle sparing hip replacement. I walked up the stairs and can walk around the house. Walking is slow  and careful and stairs are exceptional occasions at this point.
The skin was cut and the muscles moved aside for the proceedure of replacing the ball and cup of the hip. The bone no longer hurts, so  bruising and swelling and a ten inch long incision are all I have to get over. I can't be at the garden this week  - and as a few others have prior commitments there may be no-one to open at 8am unless someone steps up.
If you get there early, please slide the bar aside, turn it over so it says "open" and enjoy the peace.
An easy task will be gathering greens for the worms, any old or insect bitten leaves are good, take some of the extras from the squash, and Okra, clippers are on the tables or in the cupboard. Do bring compost from home - but for worms no onions garlic citrus or pineapple.
Another satisfying job will be raking the plants back from the path on the East side, and making all the trailing squash vines turn back into the patch.
It seems some are going to be chopped in to prepare the soil for new plantings - as Marilyn said the second flowering is more likely to produce fruit than the first, I am still hoping for some more squash. I hope we can identify the chinese lantern squash. ( Marilyn perhaps they need a little signage).
Love to all. I'm looking forward to being there again - maybe sooner rather than later... "deo volente" ( as my granny used to say).
