Lesson 386: The Cure For Shaking Knees
It helps to imagine yourself on the battlefield, dressed in this armor. Look through the face plate on the helmet of salvation God provided; you can see Satan’s forces marching toward you. This approaching threat causes your knees to shake.
Then you hear the words of your commander: “Steady! Don’t retreat; take your stand. Be strong in the power of His might. Forget about how weak you are; your armor cannot fail.”
But God has given us something more than perfect defenses. We do not simply hide inside the castle walls and ride out the storm while Satan uses up his ammunition. God has also provided the ultimate offensive weapon:
Eph.6:17 take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God
When Jesus was tempted for 40 days in the wilderness, He responded every time by quoting Scripture.
Not only did Jesus survive the assault, He resisted, and Satan retreated.
Luke 4:13 when the devil had ended every temptation, he departed
About This Series
The goal of this series is to become more useful in serving the Lord Jesus Christ, as an instrument in the Redeemer's hand. The theme verses for the series are Ephesians 4:22-24, Philemon 11, 2 Timothy 2:21
- to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,
- and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
- Formerly he was useless to you, but now he is indeed useful to you and to me.
- Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.
