Friday 29: MAF is a step nearer to flying again in Bangladesh.  We are waiting for permission from the Bangladesh Civil Aviation Authority and are hopeful that this will be granted so that flying can resume next week.  Please pray with us.

Saturday 30: Pray for God’s mercy and for a halt in the spread of the ebola virus in West Africa.  Give thanks also for the flexibility and willingness of Emil and Margrit Kündig (who have been assigned to Liberia) relieving in Uganda for a month.

Sunday 31: In partnership with the Timor-Leste government, MAF is hoping soon to provide a flight experience program to Timorese pilots.  Pray for the five young men nominated by the Government and for the Lord to lead clearly on the way forward.

Monday 1: Give thanks for volunteers Jim Charlesworth and Luke Mosely, as well as David Horton (from Arnhem Land) who are in Mareeba to work on two PNG Cessna 206 aircraft that are being prepared to be sold.

Tuesday 2: Work has commenced on a new MAF office at Kajjansi, just out of Kampala, Uganda.  Once completed the bookings office and ground operations will be located together.  Praise God for this wonderful resource.

Wednesday 3: Two new families have just joined the Arnhem Land team (Van Der Veldes (Reservations Officer) and Morrells (pilot)).  Pray for them as they adjust to life in Arnhem Land.

Thursday 4: Technical Manager/Ministries Assistant Lukas Schadegg is in the process of creating a new product called the Wifi Bible (a product where the Bible and other resources will be freely available via wifi).  Please pray that this project will come to fruition quickly and will have great impact in Goroka and throughout Papua New Guinea.

Friday 5: Work is well underway on the new flight training school in Mareeba.  Pray that there will be no holdups in construction and that this will be a fantastic resource in God’s kingdom when it opens its doors for business in February 2015.

Saturday 6: Give thanks for flight following staff on the ground in our MAF programmes around the world, providing our pilots with vital weather information and keeping track of our aircraft while in the skies.

Sunday 7: Give thanks for our MAF men.  Praise God for their skills, dedication and willingness to serve.  May today be a day where they also rest in the love of their Heavenly Father.

Monday 8: Pray for the Alexander family (pilot), Dallas Patten (pilot) and Andrew McDonald (pilot) as they work on Ministry Partnership development in Australia and New Zealand.  Pray that they might be fully supported and ready to serve with MAF in record times.

Tuesday 9: Like MAF in Bangladesh MAF in Mozambique is unable to fly until it receives the necessary documentation from the Mozambican Civil Aviation Institute.  Pray for encouragement for the team as they see God work on their behalf to get the necessary permission.

Wednesday 10: Praise God that when the police asked MAF and others flying in the area to look out for a group of stranded fishermen off the coast of Arnhem Land recently, pilot Fabio Zuglian was willing and able to locate the men and notify the police.  A great use of planes and pilots!

Thursday 11: Pray also for God to urgently send a doctor and a dentist to join the MozMed medical team for two year assignments.  MAF in Mozambique partners with this wonderful group to provide essential medical and dental care in northern Mozambique.

A note from Angela:

Have you seen the latest MAF video? It’s a Father’s Day promotion.  In it our MAF kids spout technical words and plenty of acronyms as they try to explain exactly what it is that their fathers do in MAF. While it’s clear that most of them haven’t got a clue, it’s equally clear that they’re very proud of their fathers. If you haven’t seen it, have a look at https://mafgifts.org.au/jerrycan/

It reminded me of how I feel about my Heavenly Father.  Often I don’t have the faintest idea what He’s doing.  I might have a sound theological explanation, but the truth is that sometimes it’s really beyond me.  However I’m totally confident that He knows what He’s doing and why.  I’m convinced that He’s got it under control.  I trust Him and I feel totally secure in His love.

We’re a technical organisation.  So while we may not always understand exactly what our MAF staff do, we certainly understand why they do it!  And we’re proud of them!

Thank you so much for your part in our mission to share God’s love using aviation and technology,

Angela Harding
