Published Glad Tidings

Zion Lutheran Church
Wooster, Ohio
Where Moms Connect
1st & 4th Saturdays
at 11:00 a.m.

Next session meets on 8/30.
The August 30th session is entitled "Does God have a plan for you?".  We all wonder what the bigger plan is for our lives, and the story of LeAnn Thieman is an inspiration on this topic. As a nurse and young mother in the mid-1970s, LeAnn found herself someplace she had no intention of finding herself - in the middle of a war zone, rescuing babies!  This session relates LeAnn's story and helps moms consider God's plans for their lives.

Hope to see you there!
Childcare provided!

Please note:  The session scheduled for September 6th has been cancelled.

Scripture Readings
for August 31, 2014
Twelfth Sunday after Pentecost

Jeremiah 15:15-21
The prophet Jeremiah speaks of the incurable wound of his suffering, yet finds in God's words the delight of his heart. When Peter doesn't grasp Jesus' words about suffering, Jesus tells the disciples they will find their lives in losing them. Such sacrificial love is described by Paul when he urges us to associate with the lowly and not repay evil with evil. In worship we gather as a community that we might offer ourselves for the sake of our suffering world.
