UD Phone Home: Connections

As we soak in every last morsel of sunshine this weekend, we look forward to the fall and bask in the success of a productive summer.

This fall at Urbanity, expect to see our company moving in October to our new studio at 1180 Washington.  After six months of planning, construction is finally underway. With in-kind donations, we are halfway to our $100,000 goal for our New Studio Campaign, but we still have a ways to go. Stay tuned for our Kickstarter campaign, which will launch in two weeks with limited edition booty prizes!

Urbanity is back to school! Classes begin September 9th and classes are filling quickly. Urbanity offers classes for all ages and levels in hip hop and contemporary dance. We even have new classes for babies starting at six months! Our hearts are ricocheting with the glowing after effects of our Summer Intensive program. Urbanity had our first-ever residential program in collaboration with MassArt and hosted 65 students from all around the country. The program culminated with a meaningful performance at the Paramount Theatre for the Boston Contemporary Dance Festival. We are already planning next year's audition tour, January 2015!

Lastly, thank you for everyone who came out for the third annual Boston Contemporary Dance Festival at the Paramount Theatre.  Urbanity hosted 43 companies from across the nation, producing innovative work and sharing best practices. #noeasyfeat
