Memory and Cognition

Memory and cognition are critical elements impacting language ability and disability in both
children and adults. This presentation at the intermediate/professional level will enhance the understanding of the relationship between memory, cognition and language performance. The presenter will review the components which comprise memory and cognitive functioning. Tools for assessments of memory and cognition and how the results impact language will be reviewed. Programs for the development of memory and cognition will be presented and the efficacy of memory and cognitive intervention and its relationship to communication will be discussed.
