NASL Finalizes Topics & Speakers for October 5 - 7

NASL Urges CMS to Modify Several Provisions in CY2015 Physician Fee Schedule Proposed Rule
Last week, NASL submitted comments to Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) on the Physician Fee Schedule, Clinical Laboratory Fee Schedule, Access to Identifiable Data for the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation Models & Other Revisions to Part B for Calendar Year (CY) 2015; Proposed Rule. NASL Comments on ESRD/DMEPOS Proposed Rule for CY2015
On September 2, NASL submitted comments to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) on its End-Stage Renal Disease Prospective Payment System (ESRD PPS), Quality Incentive Program, and Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics & Supplies (DMEPOS) Proposed Rule. The proposed rule was published in July 11, 2014 edition of the Federal Register. Read more.

CMS Finalizes Extension of Stage 2 & Delay of Stage 3 of Meaningful Use
On August 29, just before the start of the Labor Day weekend, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released a final rule on the use of electronic health record (EHR) technology. Read the final rule here. Read more.

CMS Appeals Offer
To more quickly reduce the volume of patient status claim denials currently pending in the appeals process, CMS is offering an administrative agreement to any acute care hospital or Critical Access Hospital (CAH) willing to withdraw pending appeals (or waive the right to request an appeal) in exchange for timely partial payment (68% of the net payable amount). Learn more here
