Club Champs
The club champs will be held on Saturday the 20th of September.  There are still some beds available as we have secured a number of beds in Snowline Club.  Please put your booking as soon as possible so we have final numbers.

For lunch catering purposes, can you please advise if you are going to be at the races for the day only and also if you would like to stay for dinner.  Email bookings@tauposki.org.nz

Fire Evacuation
Can all club members please make yourselves and your families aware of the fire evacuation procedures.  These are posted on the notice board.  Also it is a good idea to have a jacket and shoes beside your bed at night in case of emergencies.  It may not be possible or practical to get gear from the drying room or hallway in the event of an emergency.

November Workparty
Just a reminder that the next workparty will be scheduled on November 8-9.  Please put your booking in if you are available to help on this weekend.  Workparty booking form
Tongariro Junior Ski Race
Well done to all our juniors who raced last weekend in the Tongariro Junior Race.  Our juniors are getting great experience in these races and are competing against some very experienced competitive racers.  Well done to Caoilinn Gray who placed third in the under 8's girls.  The other racers competing were:
Emma McCardle in the under 8 girls
Ivan Veitch in the under 8 boys
Seanna Gray, Anna Veitch and Hadir MacFarlane in the under 10 girls
Joel Amrein and Ben McCardle in the under 10 boys
Kitty Scott in the under 12 girls
Cole Scott in the under 12 boys
Caleb Amrein in the under 14 boys
NZ Ski Club Colorado
If you are thinking of heading to the states this northern winter check out the following website.  Rhys & Deanna are National Park locals and have already hosted club members.  Have a chat to Julie about it.

September 2014

Dates for your Diary:
Ngauruhoe Trophy 13 September
Club Champs 20 September
School Holidays 26 September to 12 October
Season Close 27 October

November Workparty 8 - 9 November

Inter Club Racing
The club had a great turn out of 4 teams for the Rangatira Trophy.  In very trying conditions, the Open team of Nick Moss, Aaron Moss, Nick Staines and Simone MacFarlane came third.  The Masters team of Greg Bennett, Mark Wisniewski, Karen Williams and Anthony Moss also came third.  In the individual results Nick Moss was the third fastest male skier and Karen Williams the second fastest female master skier.  The two junior teams all raced well and are getting great experience for the future.  Watch this space for when these guys are a little older!

Groceries Reminder
Please remember that we need to get groceries to the club regularly.  If you are heading up to the club please call Marty on 0800 347 482 to see if there are any groceries to go to the club.  Also, can those members at the club please help bring in the groceries when they arrive so the load is shared.
Club ETA and Dinner Request
Could members please email Julie (our custodian) an estimated time of arrival at the club and whether they will be there for dinner.  It makes it easier to plan for dinners and ensure we know when members will be arriving for safety reasons.  Email bookings@tauposki.org.nz
