Building and Guarding, God's Work, Our Work

"Working"

Psalm 127

It all starts with God. It ends with Him too. And all through its about God. I'm talking about our work.

Psalm 127 is a Psalm about our work, the work we do everyday. In our day, work seems to be everything to some people, nothing to others. Some see some work as sacred, other work as secular. But this Psalm sets us straight. Work is empty and pointless unless God works with us. And He does, in all our work. For all work is sacred to God. All. Including what you do. And work isn't just what we get paid for...

Sunday's Bulletin
Please consider saving your clean, gently used and new items for the church bazaar.  The bazaar will be held on Saturday, November 8th and donations can be dropped off to the Foster Hall stage starting in September.  Everything is being accepted:  new items, books, movies, music, furniture, toys, holiday items, jewelry, etc.  Please just make sure that donations are clean and not broken.  Spread the word – tell your friends and neighbors.  If you are unable to bring the donations to church and need the donations picked up or want to get them out of your house now, contact the church office 215-342-2112 and arrangements can be made.

Interfaith Hosting.  During the month of September we will once again be hosting two families from Philadelphia Interfaith Hospitality Network.  There is a sign-up sheet in the Narthex if you would like to volunteer to cook a meal, host a meal or do a sleep-over.  If you have any questions, please see Joy Lorah.

Church Office Hours.  Starting September 3, 2014 the Church Office will be open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9-2 pm.

Rally Day is here!  It is a big day for our Children’s Ministry as we commission our teachers and volunteer staff. We also will be taking our Annual All-Church Picture right after Worship, and new this year, stay after for an All-Church Picnic in the side yard, hosted by Children’s’ Ministry. Bring a picnic lunch with you, and maybe something to share, drinks and dessert will be provided.

Church Picture after Worship.  Immediately after worship come gather on the steps outside the Sanctuary for our annual Church Picture.  If you are here today, you belong in the picture!  If you have children, pick them up and join us outside.

Do you have suggestions of whom the Nominating Committee could consider as they do the work of nominating Deacons and Elders for 2015?  If  you do, contact the chairperson of the Committee, Rosemary Hargreaves, or contact the Church Office.

Nominating Committee.  There will be a meeting of the Nominating Committee next Sunday, September 14th immediately following the worship service in Room 103.
