The Higher Education Course and Module Evaluation Conference

The Higher Education Course and Module Evaluation Conference is a one day event running in partnership with Newcastle University, the Association of University Administrators (AUA) and Electric Paper.
The course presents delegates with the opportunity to have an overview of the benefits of course, module, research project and training evaluations from a number of different perspectives.

Proposed topics
  • How can you encourage students to reflect more and give a better quality of responses?
  • Innovative Case Studies of academics and institutions feeding back to students
  • How do results get measured, monitored and used
  • Course / module evaluation from the student’s perspective
  • What can students expect to gain from course / module evaluations?
  • When is there enough feedback?
  • Examples and actions of changes that have benefited students because of course / module evaluation
  • Is course evaluation a suitable measure for performance of academics?


Submitting a session proposal
Session proposals must be received by Friday 3 October.

If your session is accepted, the information you provide on the form may be used for marketing purposes and will be published in the event programme and on the Electric Paper and AUA websites to enable participants to build their personal Conference programme. All session proposals will be reviewed to ensure the content is appropriate for the desired learning outcomes. Factors which the team will consider include: demand; professional development needs; topicality; level of intellect and the diversity of AUA membership.


What happens next?
Within 10 working days of submitting your session proposal, you will receive an acknowledgement email. If you do not receive one, please email aua@aua.ac.uk.

Presenters of accepted proposals will be informed by email by Friday 17 October 2014.  Once the programme has been finalised we will contact you again to confirm the time of your session.
