Vision Night & Seek Week

On Sunday we heard from Mike in the Worship Center and Austin in The Commons about the first part of our vision on Follow. The two new worship services in The Commons got off to a great start. This is an exciting adventure!

Both Mike and Austin preached on Follow Jesus as a Disciple. In the coming two weeks, September 14 and 21, Mike and Austin will preach on the other two parts of the vision, Connect and Go. All together, the three-part vision comes straight out of the Bible:

Follow Jesus as a disciple.
Connect with others as part of a spiritual family.
Go into our world as a missionary.

This is a vision that we want to wrap all of our ministries around. Already, we are organizing our Ministry Teams in line with our vision. Here are most, if not all, of the major ministry areas of our church aligned with our vision:

Follow: Worship, Creative Arts, New Community (Rooted) and Prayer
Connect: Children, Students, Community Groups (and Adult Fellowships), Re>Store Groups, Special Needs and Host Serving Groups
Go: International Outreach, Global Initiatives, Local Initiatives, Go Groups, Compassion and Training

Mike is going to share the details of the vision at Vision Night on Monday, September 22 at 7:00–8:30 pm in the Worship Center. The Elders of our church have unanimously come together on the vision; on September 22, we can all hear about it publicly. This event will be streamed live online for those who are not able to attend in the Worship Center. Childcare (birth–Kindergarten) will be available.

Leading up to our Vision Night, we will have Seek Week from September 15–22. This is an opportunity to pray, read Scripture, fast and consider what God is doing in our church.

Morning prayer times each weekday at the church in the Chapel from 7:00–7:45 am
Corporate prayer services on September 15, 17, and 19 in the Worship Center. (Monday and Friday times are at 7:00 pm and childcare (birth–Kindergarten) will be available. The Wednesday service is at 12:00 pm. All services will last one hour).
A daily devotional guide. We are offering a daily devotional/prayer guide as a way for you to engage on your own each day. For you subscribers to eNews, we will send out daily emails with this content. There will also be a limited number of paper copies available at the office and at Guest Central on Sunday. The guide will also be available on the website as a PDF.

It will be wonderful to worship, pray and fast together.

Befriend an International Student

We hosted over 600 CSUF International students from all over the world at our welcome dinner last Saturday and we still need American friends for 400 of them. This is a great opportunity for these students to be able to experience the warmth and hospitality of the American culture and we don’t want to have to turn any away. To find out more info on how you can impact the lives of our international students, contact Amanda Young, 714.257.4321.

Prayer

Our prayer ministry is looking for every opportunity to support you in prayer. We're available 24/7 on our website, simply by clicking the "prayer" link on the homepage. You can submit a prayer request, even anonymously, and know that our prayer team will read your note and pray with you. We also love to hear answers to your prayer requests, so feel free to share those too.

If you'd like to pray with someone in person, we have people who would love to pray with you after any Sunday service. If you'd like to take a more active role in praying for our church, you can always contact us at prayer@evfreefullerton.com and find out how to get involved in our prayer ministry.
