Three greyhounds, Boc’s Hank Jr, Boc’s Happy Phil, and Hilco Klassy have all earned the maximum 45 points going into the semi-final round and are anticipated to compete in next week's finals.

The Women of Greyhound Racing, a benevolent organization formed to celebrate and engage women in all aspects of the sport seeks support in fighting breast cancer in conjunction with the National Greyhound Association.
To learn more about this organization, click on the Learn More button below. Their second annual fundraiser is underway as they seek to meet their goal of $5,000. All proceeds will benefit breast cancer awareness and research.
“We wanted to honor the women in greyhound racing for the amazing work they do, often behind the scenes,” said Leslie Csokasy, one of the organizers. “Greyhound racing is a family business, and there are some terrific women in our sport who do everything from running the farms and kennels to coordinating greyhound adoption efforts when their racers retire.”

Dubuque Greyhound Park at Mystique ran its annual Dubuque Classic stakes event Saturday Evening August 30th. For thirty years, Dubuque Greyhound Park has celebrated this 3/8 mile stakes event.

In this evening's Paydog feature from Jacksonville will be the finals of the Jacksonville Sprint Classic. Kiowa Mat Marty # 8, the class of the race, will have to bring his "A" game if he wants to take home the trophy. Our play will be a four dog quinella box 2,3,6,8 and that might not be enough with this ultra competitive field.

The Future Star stakes begins tonight! The stakes will feature 48 greyhounds whelped in 2012 or later that have won their first official race at Dubuque this year.
Qualifying rounds:
-Saturday Eve, Sept. 13
-Friday Eve, Sept. 19
-Wednesday Mat, Sept. 24
The final round will be Saturday Eve, Sept. 27.
The 2013 winner, Superior Marine, led the entire way to claim the title.

Belmont's Saturday card will feature two graded races starting with race 7, the Noble Damsel ($200,00 purse), 1 mile on the turf for fillies and mares three years old and upward.
Our pick in the Sands Point ($500,00 purse) race 8, 1 1/8 miles for three year old fillies is Xcellence #1. She will stalk the pace early and close ground late coming for home. Daring Dancer #8, winner of 4 of 5 starts will be tough to handle if the turf comes up firm.
