The evening opens with “Junkie”. Me has met a girl on Tinder and his brand new red jumper doesn’t fit. But why leave the house when there is a million other fish in the digital sea? “Junkie” is a sharp witted emotional journey into everyday averageness and the rise of the digital age.

“Hi Life, I Win” forms the second half of the evening where we join Me, on the eve of his biopsy, as he takes a look back at his tearaway teenage years stuck inside a Catholic School. Expect Adidas Poppers, Dr Dre, Bunking French & Loudon Wainwright III. “Hi Life, I win” is a nostalgic reflection of life that anyone whose ever been a teenager can relate to.

Exciting young writer Andrew Maddock’s The Me Plays present a semi-autobiographical look at growing up in Wembley, complete with discussions of male body image, internet pornography, Roman Catholic schools & Rap. Expect laughs & lows in a series of plays that look at what it means to be somebody finding their way in the world in the new digital age.

"Exploring the theatricality of politics..."

Every day we are bombarded from all sides by news of elections, homelessness, war, cover-ups, global warming, rising house prices, referendums, famine, green energy, education, gay rights, prison over crowding...the list goes on. Each issue affects us all in different ways and the flood of information that sweeps over us can be so overwhelming that it becomes easier just to switch off and subsequently keep opinions to ourselves. But it doesn't have to be that way... Political Pageantry urges everyone to get creative, put their hand up and have a voice!

TREMers & Dréim Productions return to the Old Red Lion following last years The Fastest Clock in the Universe with a series of theatrical evenings that will feature original performances inspired by the issues of today. This is a fantastic opportunity to see brand new politically minded work using poetry, music, puppetry, drama, spoken word and dance created by a selection of talented performers and artists.

Tickets £12.00 (£9.00 Conc.)

'Farrelly inhabits the character of Hamilton with a blazing fluidity...you won't be able to take your eyes off this magnetic actor' ★★★★ - The Times

Patrick Hamilton was one of the most celebrated English writers of the 1930s, whose hit plays (Rope, Gaslight) and novels (Hangover Square) penetratingly and wittily explored both a drink-sodden Soho milieu, and the dark, destructive forces at the core of the human psyche.

Burgeoning alcoholism and a super-chaotic personal life took a mighty toll on Hamilton's output, leaving him unjustly forgotten in the canon of English literature. Now, for the first time, his extraordinary true story is told in this bitingly truthful solo show, which blends original writing with extracts from Hamilton's finest works, and sees the author facing the ultimate question:

"How is it you can get from one end of life to the other without feeling that another human being ever truly knew you?"

Written and performed by MARK FARRELLY (Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, West End), who is fresh from a major success at this year's Edinburgh Festival as writer / performer of Quentin Crisp: Naked Hope, which is about to embark on a national tour.  Directed by LINDA MARLOWE, who is internationally renowned for her 25-year creative association with Steven Berkoff, and her own solo work, including Berkoff's Women and The World's Wife.

Tuesday - Saturday at 9:30pm

Saturday matinee at 4pm

Sunday matinee at 3pm

Pink Snail productions is proud to present the world premiere of Sarah Simmonds’ first play Unidentified Item In The Bagging Area.

This outrageous and dark comedy explores the pursuit of one’s own happiness in a close up, candid look at the unfair, undeniable and really shit parts of the human condition that keep us together and tear us apart, probably at the same time.

“Dear God. Hi. Sorry about the last fifty years. Just checking in to say that it would be great if you could remind my husband that he has a penis. And a wife. With a vagina. That works. That’s it. I don’t think I’m asking for much. Thanks. Amen.”

Victoria Burnham is 50, post-menopausal and fed up.

In a world where her husband’s weeding of the garden takes priority over their sex life and her son’s new, exciting life at University leaves her with sleepless nights and a lack of purpose, Victoria is barren, old and useless.

Until she meets extroverted, confident, independent Meg.

Meg invites Victoria into a world where anything is possible, where dreams may come, where men really do come - Mature Madams, a seedy sex hotline.

But how long will Victoria enjoy this electrifying thrill before her history begins to leak back into her life?

Sarah Simmonds is a recent graduate of the Royal Court Studio Group and the Lyric Hammersmith’s Writers’ Programme. She was longlisted for the 2011 Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting aged just 21, and has had excerpts of her work performed at the Royal Exchange, The Old Joint Stock and the Lyric Hammersmith.

Directed by Louise Shepherd.

Organising producer Andrew Neil.

Tickets £15.00 (£13.00 Conc.)

The prizes will be announced closer to the season's beginning, but for now - join up (completely free), and set about building your team! Head over and start building your team now!

Irish Music
On the first and third Sunday's of each month, the Old Red Lion Theatre Pub plays host to a gang of wonderful Irish musicians. With up to fifteen musicians playing together, these evenings are often visual spectacles as well as a delight for the ears. There's often a whole host of unusual and interesting instruments on show alongside the lovely comfort of the string section.

Having recently received our Master Brewer's Guinness accreditation straight from St James' gate, you can now join us for these evenings and enjoy a perfect pint of Guinness, by our genuine Irish landlord (it just gets better)!
