TDG Amendment 12: What You Need to Know for January 2015

Join Tavares Group Consulting Inc. and guest expert Wayne MacLeod, President of Hazard Control Systems Inc., for a full day training session hi-lighting all TDG road/rail requirements including the significant amendments to the TDG Regulations. Attendees will receive a certificate upon completion of the training session.
Changes to the TDG Regulations that will be discussed include:

the requirement for maintaining a record of “Proof of Classification” of a dangerous good for 5 years (i.e. lab tests);
-
consignor’s certification statement on all shipping documents, including waste manifests;
-
changes to safety mark symbols and rules with respect to limited quantities, overpacks, and consolidation bins;
-
new placard requirements;
-
new Transport Canada standards for packaging for small containers (Classes 3, 4, 5, 6.1, 8 & 9) and for Rail Transport of dangerous goods;
-
clarification of requirements for aerosol containers;
-
new and some repealed definitions;
-
updated references to newer versions of standards such as 17th Edition of UN Recommendations on Transport of Dangerous Goods;
-
changes to Part 10 Rail;
-
changes to Part 11 Marine;
-
comprehensive changes to Part 12 International and Domestic Transport by Aircraft; and
-
comprehensive changes to Schedules 1 and 2 (such that a consigner must verify all rules for every dangerous good they ship).
