Join playwright, novelist, and actor Eric Bogosian for the Armenian Studies Program opening lecture, “An Armenian American Artist—Back to the Front.” In his talk, Bogosian will discuss the evolution of his life as an artist and as an Armenian-American.
Bogosian will also lead three workshops for faculty and graduate students focusing on the relationship between art and history while investigating specific works and their role in defining the term “artist” at different times in history.

Join SAC Screenwriting Coordinator Jim Burnstein for a talk and Q&A with Marc Graboff, President of CORE Media Group Inc. Marc Graboff was named president of CORE Media Group Inc. in January 2012. He is the senior executive at the company, overseeing all strategic and day-to-day operations. CORE Media Group is a portfolio company of Apollo Global Management, a private equity firm and parent company to 19 Entertainment (American Idol, So You Think You Can Dance) and Sharp Entertainment (Doomsday Preppers, Man v. Food).

Join Professor Jonathan Sterne (McGill University) for a talk that examines the lesser-known work and legacy of Dennis Gabor. Gabor was a physicist famous for inventing holography. He also applied quantum theory to sound, and in so doing offered an important corrective to prevailing interpretations of wave theories of sound derived from Joseph Fourier’s work.

Join SAC for a free film screening of Dekh Indian Circus, followed by a Q&A with Director/Writer Mangesh Hadawale. Dekh Indian Circus is a small film with a large heart. After a small seed begins to grow in the heart of a young girl who is enchanted by the notion of a circus character, a sweet and profound struggle for the simple act of watching the circus ensues. How far will a poor family go to take their two little children to the circus? With drama and pit stops at every turn, we are taken on a comedy of errors and triumphs.
