Here we go…

Pause • Plan • Do

And were off. The fall season of work has begun. Next stop: Thanksgiving.

This is your weekly reminder to put some planning into your week — your best defense against that sense of being overwhelmed and under-resourced. Investing a few minutes now can mark the difference between surviving and thriving.

The Week Ahead

  1. How do you want to be?
(I've always considered this is one of the most important questions we can ask ourselves on a regular basis.)
    • How do you want to carry yourself?
    • How do you want to feel?
    • What energy and attitudes do you want to exude? Confidence? Power? Charisma? Empathy? Understanding?
  2. What's on your plate?
    • What are your goals?
    • What do you hope to achieve this week? (Imagine it's Friday afternoon and you’re looking back over the week. What would make you most happy to have achieved it?)
    • What do you need to accomplish this week?
  3. Survey the meetings and events on your calendar
    • What do you need to do to prepare each day?
    • What days can you leave early?
    • What days can you go in a bit later?

Join the Club!

It's not too late to sign up for our book club, which started just this week. We are reading Thinking, Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman. See the blog post for full details.

I am off to LA this week to co-lead a workshop on diversity and inclusion. It promises to be a busy week at the start of what is shaping up to be a very busy fall. Drop me a line and let me know what your planning for the week.

I wish you success.
